Events and Workshops Open to the Public

All programs listed below are held at Collabria Care, 414 South Jefferson St. Napa, unless otherwise stated.

Grief Support Group (Ongoing)

A weekly drop-in support group for adults who have lost a loved one. These groups are open to the public and are free of charge.
Thursdays, 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.

 

Caregiver Support Groups (Ongoing)

Offered in partnership with Redwood Caregiver Resource Center and the Alzheimer’s Association

Napa Location: Collabria Care, 414 South Jefferson St. Napa
1st Thursday of every month 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. (Respite available)
3rd Wednesday of every month, 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Saint Helena Location: Rianda House, 1475 Main Street, St Helena
1st Thursday of every month, 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Mind Boosters (Ongoing)

A social program for people who are concerned about their memory or are in the early stages of memory loss and want to be proactive in maintaining their brain health.

Tuesdays: 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Consultations & Memory Screenings

Collabria Care offers free counseling sessions to discuss challenges of care giving, access to local resources and to offer emotional support. Meet with a Medical Social Worker from Collabria Care for a private and confidential individual or family consultation for those who have concerns, questions or need guidance about memory loss, loss of independence, driving, or other senior care issues.

Consultations are held at 2 locations:

Learning to Live with Loss ~ Napa, 2019

An eight-week grief support group for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Collabria Care provides a safe environment where you can share your feelings and experiences in a supportive group setting. This is a free community service, but registration is required. Choose from either the Monday afternoon groups or the Wednesday evening group. These series are held at 414 South Jefferson St., Napa and are facilitated by Janeen Fabulae, LMFT.

Caregiver 101 – Offered in Spanish

Who Should Attend?

• Family Caregivers • IHSS • Paid or Volunteer Caregivers • Assisted Living Staff • Anyone who provides care to the   elderly or disabled

What Will You Learn?

• Safe and more efficient    techniques for bathing, dressing,    transfers and mobility   (Hands on practice time included)• Techniques and suggestions for    making your home a safer place       and reducing the risk for falls• Equipment options for safe and    more independent caregiving• Problem Solving: An Occupational    Therapist and an assistant will be there to answer your questions

What Will You Receive?

• Hands-On Caregiving Manual • Certification of Participation • Light meal will be provided

Taller Para Personas Que Cuidan De: Personas de la Tercera Edady Personas Discapacitadas

Quién Deberá Asistir:
• Familiares quienes cuidan a su ser querido
• Cuidadores de enfermos:voluntarios o de paga
• Personas que proveen apoyo y servicios a familias
• Cualquier persona que provee cuidado a personas de la tercera edad y personas discapacitadas

Lo Que Aprenderá:
• Tecnicas más eficientes y seguras para bañar, vestir y trasladar (incluye práctica)
• Técnicas y sugerencias para hacer que su casa sea un lugar mas seguro, reduciendo riesgos de caidas
• Opciones de equipo para que sea más seguro e independiente el cuidado
• Como hacer las actividades diarias más importantes y terapéuticas
• Ejercicios para mantener fuerza y balance
