Collabria Care’s 11th annual benefit gala, Heart & Heritage: Where Love and Support Flourish, was held at Castello di Amorosa on September 8, 2017. Honorary Chair, Chuck Wagner, perfectly embodied the evening’s theme, representing both a generous heart and a heritage that includes three generations of winemakers.
“Collabria Hospice has forever impacted the lives of countless families in our community. Caregiving is an act of dedication, compassion, and love that often takes place out of view. We feel privileged to help and support those who give so much of themselves in service to others. Among its many gifts, hospice is a reminder to all of us to live the moments of our lives as fully and meaningfully as possible,” said Chuck Wagner.
The evening’s festivities included a silent auction featuring a great selection of fine wines, jewelry, artwork and dining opportunities. The live auction offered a fabulous selection of collectable wines, vacations, and unique experiences. Notable lots included a stay at Dario Sattui’s Le Château de Boismorand, a fairytale castle in southern France; and a lavish luncheon at Far Niente, hosted by Beth Nickel, Eileen Crane, Gina Gallo and Kathryn Hall.
The annual benefit gala is the single largest fundraising event the nonprofit agency holds. This year, under the direction of Valerie Peebles and her tireless committee, the gala raised more than $523,000 to support its programming. Fund-a-need donations raised over $200,000, which includes a generous $100,000 matching grant from Auction Napa Valley.
“We are so appreciative to have the loving support of our truly generous community here in the Napa Valley,” said Linda Gibson, Collabria Care President & CEO. “The money raised from this event allows us to continue to provide critical services to our community, during periods of life that are both vulnerable and sacred. We are ever grateful for the support.”
Collabria Care’s next gala event will be held on September 7, 2018, and will be held at The Napa Valley Reserve.
